Learning Outcome
Leadership has a critical role to play within organizations to ensure best approaches and practices that promote performance and competitiveness within organizations (Curtis & Manning, 2015). The session’s presentation was on diversity, persuasion and effective delegation of work to benefit organizations through active leadership commitments. Different forms of leadership influence diverse groups, with good leadership inspiring followers and getting the best out of them. Organizations around the globe are facing the reality of diversity in the wake of globalization, the expansion of business activities and realization of the benefits of proper management of diversity within organizations.
The focus of the session was also on reviewing a video relevant to the area of study and giving a comparison and connection of managing diversity and the applicability of the concepts. According to Curtis & Manning (2015), a leader must carefully use qualities within them to move masses and motivate people to support their vision and the efforts that would see an organization excel. The knowledge I gained during the week has given me understanding on issues relevant to proper diversity management, an effective delegation of duties and persuasion as a concept of leadership in promoting success of organizations across the globe.
I can confidently inform on the importance of organization adopting the leadership concepts and role of leadership in ensuring effectiveness in the application of the concepts. As a lecturer, I can articulately guide the students in their mission to understand the notions of leadership and mentor them to embrace team dynamics in their daily lives and future endeavors, appreciating diversity and improving leadership techniques. There was a great success, and minimal challenges in the manner of the course presentation, during discussions, and the materials for use in the session (Curtis & Manning, 2015) were available
