Migration influenced on the cultural, economic, and political development of the United States and Canada since the entry of the first migrants shaping the country to what it is today. The process saw the transformation of the countries in all aspects that are foundational with their diversities and advancements (Del Casino, Knox, Liverman, Marston, & Robbins, 2013). It is clear that immigration in the region was at the peak during the colonization period where more people were brought it to provide cheap labor for the industries in the area. The migration shift at that time is incomparable to what is experienced even in these days.
Immigration, therefore, came with significant economic transformation within the areas with industries expanding to accommodate labor and more people being available to offer the required effort. The aspect is traceable from the time of European settlement in the region and the transformation from agricultural practice to progressive industrialization (Del Casino, et al., 2013). The movement of different people to the area from various places brought about diversified cultures and practices that turned the region into multicultural place that has to deal with the differences. The transformation of the region from agricultural to manufacturing economy brought about advancements in the economy and the reorganization of the people.
Politics has grown to influence migration policies in the countries since adjustments have to be made to keep up with the changes taking place. The countries have to adjust to the labor demands of the country and ensure that there are legal avenues that are beneficial to all the sectors (Del Casino, et al., 2013). The political environment has to be favorable to every person migrating or immigrating to sustain the region and the urge to advance. The political system, therefore, has to take consideration of the diversity and provide avenues for inclusion without discrimination making the realm considerably improved in their aspects.
