As healthcare institutions strive to adopt performance management systems, some may still have inefficiencies due to the complexity of the industry. Best practices should be a restraint of every person within an organization, and, therefore, the systems adopted should take into account the input of every person (Cheng, Dainty, & Moore, 2006). Adopting a performance management system at the top does not support the feedback mechanism that is appropriate for tracking organizational practices and performance measures.
