Business ethics: A study of Ethical Behavior and Organizational Performance Effectiveness
The doctoral dissertation presented by Gulden focused on relating ethical behavior in organizations to performance effectiveness (Gaulden, 2004). The study relied on the theory of moral reasoning and ethical climate types to accomplish the intended purpose and had a close that there were no significant findings to justify the relationship between the aspects examined by the study. Even as an ethical behavior has been central focus of organizations, the study did not present justification of its impact on the organizational performance and success (Nishihara, Ramos, & Vitell, 2010). The paper, however, cites articles that condemn unethical behaviors, laying out the effects of such practices to the organizational performance and effectiveness.
Strengths and Weaknesses of the Dissertation
The strength of the article under review is that it has proper structure and flow as an academic resource and meets the criteria for its purpose. The material generates significance in justifying the variables under investigation and provides comprehensive analysis to make a conclusion and achieve the target (Kucan, 2011). Even as the paper does not find the relation between ethical behavior and organizational performance effectiveness from the review of the research, it is evident that findings of the resources cited mentioned results of such practices to a body. The dissertation has significant contribution to the continuity of the study in the area.
The weakness of the dissertation is that its conclusion assumedly supports the continuity of unethical behaviors in institutions. If there is no significance established from the analysis of the finding on the matter investigated, then the hypothesis is null. The resource may also have lacked relevance of its time since some of the resources cited aged over fifteen years from the date of the study (Kucan, 2011). In the end, some critical aspects that have evolved in institutions may not have gotten consideration in the piece from the opinion of scholars of that time.

The first take away from the session in anticipation of the dissertation is the formatting of the article reviewed and the comparison to the work undertaken. The dissertation does not have some aspects that the individual research has though the adjustments necessary were given consideration from the exercise (McCourt, Porter, Robins, & Sloan, 2014). It is encouraging there is definite progress towards achieving quality dissertation that meets the standards set and that take into considerations the aspects of the study (Kucan, 2011). It is also important to adjust to the needs of the research within the area so that the dissertation gives an exclusive contribution to the progress and expansion of the field of organizational best practices and performance management effectiveness (Luthans, 2011).
