Learning Outcome
Leadership has a critical role to play within organizations to ensure best approaches and practices that promote performance and competitiveness within organizations (Curtis & Manning, 2015). The week presented a view of managing performance, coaching, professional performance and sustaining discipline within organizations. Students were on task in developing performance management plans and providing appropriate descriptions with a thorough review of the performance management cycle (Curtis & Manning, 2015). The step by step learning of performance analysis and evaluation, and on setting performance objectives and targets presents an opportunity and ability of students to be able to apply the knowledge in the real world.
A leader takes upon self to ensure that the necessary tools and environment is available for the efficient delivery of expectation without hindrance (Curtis & Manning, 2015). By reviewing a plan in the middle of the actions, it is possible to identify leaps that need to be adjusted to ensure that there are no performance failures and the progress is maintained. According to Curtis & Manning (2015), a leader must carefully use qualities within them to move masses and motivate people to perform and fulfill the possibility of personal development and performance within their roles.
The knowledge I gained gives me an understanding of managing performance, professional performance and sustaining discipline within organizations. I can do a design of performance plan and design tools and strategies used in the review of performance within groups. As a lecture, I can articulately guide the students to have the tips on effective performance management, analysis and maintaining discipline with the colleagues to ensure proper performance at school and at the workplace, now and in the future (Curtis & Manning, 2015).
