Purpose as a Leader of Institution

Every institution has leadership entity within it, with the persons at the top serving to lead their organizations in the right direction to meet the purpose of the system (Birasnav, 2014). A leader has authority over people who must be lead to ensure that they serve the purpose of an organization and provide for continuity of the institution. The success of an organization and commitment of followers to the mission of a group depend on the type of leadership. According to Bakker-pieper, de Vries, & Oostenveld (2010), leadership concept has been in existence from the time inception, and is transforming over and still in existence. Just as an organization is set up for a purpose with a mission and vision, so is a person for the lifetime to meet set goals that would leave a mark at different points.
Often than not, people would have various projects and purposes to achieve at different times within their lifetime depending on their situation and position (Sawar, 2013). Being a leader of a group requires vision and strategic approaches that would ensure meeting goals and objectives within the capacity of the institution. Good leaders would guide organizations and influence followers in a positive way, but weak leadership negate attitudes and efforts by employees compromising organizational performance (Curtis, & Manning, 2015).
The purpose as a leader in a growing institution is to influence the employees positively to become followers and boost their morale to attain and maintain higher performance. Being a team player, keeping contact with employees, active communication and feedback mechanisms inspire employees and promote company position (Bakker-pieper, de Vries, & Oostenveld, 2010). Leadership is the best link between people and their system and being an inspiring leader who is selfless and mindful of others would ensure the organization does not experience loss related to poor leadership. According to Sawar (2013), right leadership attracts people both within an organization and outside and places historical significance.
To make the vision of being a productive and visionary leader who makes an organization and every person within it outstand require different aspects and personal attitudes that are compatible with the organization and its people. People within organizations have different abilities and skills and being a leader who can attract people from the lowest level would ensure exploitation of all the necessary skills within the organization (Birasnav, 2014). According to Harris (2012), social influence intrinsic within a leader requires one to be approachable and challengeable whenever things are wrong to ensure an institution does not run into a crisis. A leader must be able to inspire and influence attitudes and behavior of his followers positively and make strategic decisions whenever need be.
Being charismatic and active leader help adjust transformational leadership that would ensure status quo does not impede advancement of the people and workplace. A charismatic leader attracts admiration by followers and endows loyalty that would minimize rebellion within institutions and boost productivity. According to Cangemi, Conner, Fitzgerald, Lazarus, McQuade, Miller, & Murphree, (2011), a leader must be able to offer solutions and appropriate direction in times of crisis without blaming others for the crisis. Being able to outstand in the event that the leadership course is required would make followers rely on the leader. The employees can keep contact to find a solution to dilemmas and avoid crisis because of the trust that exists (Curtis, & Manning, 2015).
