How Nature and Nature Influence Intelligence, Language, Emotional Development and Gender Identity in Early Childhood
Nature and nurture plays a very important role in childhood development by determining various important development aspects such as physical growth and intelligence. I strongly believe that nature and nurture played important roles in determining my personality during my early childhood. The early stages of life are important since important characters in persons are determined at these stages and these characters determine their future life. Language, intelligence, emotional development and gender identity are developed during the early childhood development and they determine our development into adulthood.
Nature refers to the physical environment or factors that are beyond our control as humans and they contribute a big percentage in our development. Hereditary factors formed part of the nature in my early childhood development and they played an important role that determined my childhood. I believe that although the level of my intelligence is independent from that of my parents, they contributed a major part in determining my intelligence through the genetic inheritance. The natural environment provided me with new features that I needed to learn and therefore my ability to recognize things depends on things that were available during my early childhood. On the other hand, nurture during my early childhood is the care that I received from my parents and other people who were concerned with my development. Nurture influenced my attitude towards life through interaction with other people and therefore increased my ability to learn.
Nature contributed to my language development, which occurred at the early stages of my life and it determined my early childhood development. The natural environment provided me with a variety of things that I had to learn; this increased the level of my vocabulary and understanding and determined my language. In addition, the natural environment presented me with new challenges, which I could only tackle through language development. The natural environment as well as the people surrounding me through their influence determined my language. The nurture that I received from the concerned people played an important role in my language development and characteristic. Young children respond to influence and tend to copy people whom they consider their role models. As a child, the people who provided the nurture I needed were my role models and therefore I had to develop into their footsteps. I was therefore influenced to adopt their language of communication in order to strengthen my relationships and interactions with other people.
My emotion and emotional responses developed during my early childhood according to the nature and nurture presented to me. The conditions of the natural environment determined my level of tolerance. On the other hand, the care that I received from my parents and other concerned people made me to believe that as humans we are expected to care for other people and have feelings for them. The nurture also taught me that people cannot exist in isolation and therefore they need to have feelings and care for one another. Although we are born with specific gender, gender identity takes place during early childhood and it determines our future development. During my early childhood, nature and nurture contributed to my gender identity and to the rate that I recognized my gender. The hereditary factors also played a role in determining whether I was born a male or a female child through genetics and these too are part of nature.
