Learning Outcome
Leadership has a critical role to play within organizations to ensure best approaches and practices that promote performance and competitiveness within organizations (Curtis & Manning, 2015). The week presented a view of coaching and the tasks of a leader as a coach, the role of personality in organizations and helping people through change and burnout prevention. Personality plays a critical role in organizations with employees having to adjust their characters to adapt to the system demands and ensure performance as leaders increasing awareness in dealing with the personality differences. The reality of diverse personality traits in organizations comes in the wake of globalization, expansion of business activities and realization of the benefits of proper personality adjustments.
Coaching plays a critical role in introducing an employee to a new role and the position within an organization giving opportunity to adjust to the demands that come with the responsibility. According to Curtis & Manning (2015), leaders must carefully use qualities within them to move masses and motivate people to perform and fulfill the possibility of personal development within their roles. The knowledge I gained during the week has given me an understanding of the importance of coaching and motivation, the role of personality within organizations and the importance of preventing burnout at the workplace.
I can acknowledge and understand a situation of burnout to manage and avoid the situation to improve on the performance and achievement of expectations. It is also possible for me to identify the relevant personalities within the workplace and adjust through to ensure that there will be no potential conflict. As a lecturer, I can articulately guide the students to have the tips on effective coaching and traits of a leader that will help them perform future roles, minimize and prevent burnout now and in the future.
