According to (Cleland & Ireland, 2008), project management is a way to develop, implement, control and monitor the implementation of an action plan. Without a good project management framework, actions plan implementation will not be effective. The Automated Equipment Repair Monitoring System A case study of The International Lighting Company is one of the Projects that I have managed. The project was about how far Information Technology has played a key role in the overall management of data input, processing and storage in class and Departmental management sectors. Many organizations have been experiencing substantial data losses and unauthorized accessibility emanating from mismanagement and lack of authenticity for data accessibility.
Computer applications are now recognized as a value adding activity able to make considerable contribution to the bottom line (Cleland & Ireland, 2008). The International Lighting Company, which is my case study, equipment repairs are monitored manually with the help of signing sheets as evidence for repairs and maintenance of equipment. These sheets are then kept in files and then stored for future reference. International Lighting Company automated equipment repair monitoring system is a home based computer (Custom) software that will be designed to automate the operations of the company by automating some of the daily equipment repair activities.
(Cleland & Ireland, 2008) outline the process used to manage a project as shown hereafter.
