Learning Outcomes
There exist different forms and design of organizations with different characteristics depending on the firm. In another way, teams roll out different reward systems for their employees. The session presented study on the structures and design of organizations and the types of motivation that are common to groups (Luthans, 2011). In the session, we had an opportunity of exploring motivational needs, processes and application. Learning about the different personalities and perception of employees brought about a clear understanding of their aspects within the areas covered. I also learned on how employee factors contribute to their motivation and the different forms of motivators available. The knowledge I have achieved within the week has affected my thought process by instilling in me the knowledge of the motivation processes and how they apply to organizations.
I will use the knowledge I acquired to help my group in relating best practices to performance and taking measures that will assist in dealing with and handling different attitudes and perceptions of employees. In my personal life, I can now understand the motivational needs, their classification as used, and the development of persons and the differences. I can confidently pass the knowledge to students explaining the contents of the study explicitly. The learning process was smooth with no challenge whatsoever, with an easy grasp of concepts and principles of the session. I discovered that it was possible to have a blend of reward systems and to influence organizational culture (Luthans, 2011). The book to be studied to support the learning process was available, and the discussion with peers bore fruit in helping to grasp the contents of the session. The learning during the session was highly efficient, better organized to ensure that the students participated fully whenever possible.
