Case Study Enjoyed the Most
The course presented different concepts and case studies some of which were enjoyable and easy to grasp while others were obviously technical. Though it was fun studying all the case studies, it couldn’t be better undertaking the predictive analytics presented in the closing case study four (Cummins & Haag, 2010, pg. 120). The case study presented the special place technology belongs when it comes to businesses, companies, administration and military. The urge to plan in priory before a disaster is instigated is the interest of almost everyone in the current world. The case study presented how technology can be used to analyze the past and present occurrences using varied decision tools and techniques for predictions about the future in order to initiate preparedness and possible response. It was enjoyable learning how possible it is combining systems and software and successfully applying them in different scenarios.
Case Study Enjoyed the Least
None of the case studies could be said to be boring or not enjoyable, but rating will always have the best and the least. Though equally enjoyable, closing case study two (Cummins & Haag, 2010, pg. 29) was not as enjoyable as the rest. The case study was trying to bring out the location tracking which presented as a hang on technology, dependent on the other. It could be expected that the case study would explain how the location tracking system relates to the servers, which it did not. It brought out the tussle over the location tracking more than the concepts and the functionality of the location tracking systems. In simple terms, it brought out more of the objection of the system than the purpose. It is also expected that from the case study, a reader can understand how the cell towers and the Wi-Fi spots communicate with the devices and mechanisms in place to secure any information within. The piece only mentions the aspects, which leaves the reader to obtain the information from other sources.
Resonating Concept
The most significant concept is interoperability. It may seem complex or new, but not. It is a viable concept to any person in the current age, which is often, applied everywhere unknowingly. Everyone would wish to acquire a product that could function with an already existing one. From colors, to functionality, connectivity and so forth, a person will only purchase a product complementary to others. Interoperability is a concept applied in technology that enables components to share resources and information freely even if they are from different vendors, as required by the users without any impediment.
Lessons from the Broad Spectrum of the IT Concepts
Advancement in information technology has brought major changes and developments in different sectors globally. Different developments deployed are utilized for preventive mechanisms, better product and services and for efficiency of work. Almost every sector of the global economy relies on technology, form management, production, logistics and the market. The technology advancements are opening avenues utilized by others to create opportunities. The major lesson is that, technology is only beneficial when properly used but harmful if used inappropriately (Cummins and Haag, 2010).
Biggest Take away from the Assignments
The case studies majorly highlighted the impact of technology on how different it is utilized in different sectors globally. It was evident the effects and changes that have been spurred because of technology advancements. The studies explained the effects both negative and positive highlighting the influences of appropriate and inappropriate use of technology. Technology is only beneficial if used appropriately, but harmful when utilized inappropriately, and not every technology is appropriate everywhere (Cummins and Haag, 2010).
