There is a negative attitude towards the healthcare service providers due to lack of trust, the realization that the treatment may not be effective, and lack of assurance. There is a lack of information and understanding about the health problem, failure to recognize the problem, and uncertain of where to get assistance. Circumstances in the family is a challenge, where there is a lack of family support network and responsible people to take care of children and adolescents (Lilienfeld & Schneider, 2011).
The role that government plays in preventing and managing health in populations
The government assists health departments at local levels regarding investigating the disease, consultation services as well as emergency preparedness. The government ensures it provides water supplies to take care of environmental health through proper hygiene. Proper technical assistance and funding community health is significant to all health entities to ensure there is the acceptable management of heath as well as prevention of diseases (Parmet, 2009)
Vaccine hesitancy is delaying or refusing to accept the vaccines even if they are available for vaccination services due to complacency and confidence.
The vaccine-preventable disease is a disease, which is infectious for which there is a preventive vaccine such as diphtheria, measles, and tetanus amidst others.
School immunization requirements are for children in daycare, preschool up to 12th grade, where it is a must for them to receive vaccines according to the recommendation unless there is a valid medical exemption.
Health disparities in various communities are the distinction between specific groups of populations in attaining the full potential of their health due to mortality, adverse health conditions, the burden of disease as well as prevalence (Parmet, 2009).
What role(s) the community/public health nurse has in primary prevention policies and protocols
The community/public health nurse encourages regular exercises for 30 minutes at least five days every week to prevent high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis, and heart conditions. They promote weight management through healthy eating to prevent cardiovascular disease as well as obesity. They provide education on the dangers of consuming alcohol and drug abuse, early screening of ailment to increase chances of prevention (Théodore, 2007).
