Technology Changes in Society
Technology is traversing our society in this century at a higher rate than before with significant improvements and innovations being unleashed from different points. I feel that the effect of technology is felt in almost everywhere around us. From bed, waking up to use a remote control to operate a device, going to a bus and sliding a card to access entry or pay fare, to using the mobile phone to undertake tasks, transactions among other things. Banking technology, mobile phone innovations, delivery of social services, government operations, security tunings, e-commerce, e-tourism, e-learning, social media among others are products of technology available in our own society. However, not every technology grants us positive changes, and it all depends on how we identify appropriate technology and use it appropriately. Better still, we cannot deny that various technologies have changed our lives and society we live.
Technology has changed the way I view my environment and myself and every time I think of undertaking a task, it will end on possible or appropriate technology I can use to undertake it. The mobile banking and cash transfer services has changed my life and become part of me. I cannot tell if the change is for better or worse for that depends on the perspective, but for sure, it offers some level of convenience. With the mobile banking and cash, transfer services being activated on my phone by the providers of my banking services, I can undertake different transactions from the mobile phone without necessarily going to the bank or to a cash dispensing point. I can conveniently make transactions and payment of goods and services from by bank account through the phone and without necessarily swiping a credit card or going to the bank or an automated teller machine.
