- Does the website exhibit that the church has a strong Bible base?
Yes, the website exhibits that the church has a strong Bible base. This is exemplified by the church’s core beliefs in one God and the Holy Trinity as found in Romans 8:22-25 and Ephesians 1:13-14 and that Jesus Christ was born by virgin Mary, lived sinless, died to save man, resurrected, ascended in heaven, and mediates on behalf of man to God. The church also believes in the Holy Spirit, salvation through Jesus Christ Romans (3:23, 6:23; John 3:16 Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38), baptism by water, communion (Matthew 26:26-28 Luke 22:19 Matthew 18), and that the church is the body of Christ Ephesians (4: 1-16). Other beliefs are that the Bible is the inerrant word of God (2 Timothy 3:16), that Christ will one day return and judge all people and sinners will be punished in hell while believers go to Heaven (2 Thessalonians 1:8-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18), and that women have a role to play in church.

- What do you feel is the church’s priority?
The church’s priority is teaching and worship.
- What 3 ministry ideas stood out to you and why?
The three ministry ideas that stood out for me were evangelism and the Legacy Team of the Church of the Highlands and the EquipU classes of the Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Evangelism at the Church of the Highlands is taken very seriously and they have adopted a segmented approach where people are organized into different groups based on age or location or psychographic features and specific messages tailored for each of the group. On the other hand, the Legacy Team is very inspiring as it is a team dedicated to giving. They make contributions that are used to spread the gospel, bankroll building projects, and provide scholarships and bursaries. This is novel to me as it helps people who are endowed with the spiritual gift of giving to utilize their gifts besides advancing the church’s mission. The EquipU classes of the Thomas Road Baptist Church is a resource with short-term classes that give information on several practical subjects and help believers learn new skills, increase knowledge and experience hobbies together.
- Do you currently participate in these kinds of ministries? If so, how can your research help you enhance what you are doing? If not, how can you include these ides in your ministry?
I participate in evangelism. The research has helped to reinforce the message in the bible about taking the gospel of Christ first to one’s locality and then gradually going to the ends of the world.
- What differences did you identify between these churches?
The Church of the Highlands website seems to be more rooted in biblical teachings. Their statement of belief is very comprehensive and supported by different bible verses. They look to very strong on evangelism and discipleship with established systems. Oak Hills church has a strong teaching program and a strong evangelism program as well. Its statement of faith is strongly founded on the bible but its evangelism and discipleship strategies are unclear.
- Do you think that size, geographic location or financial resources should influence your philosophy of ministry? If so, how? If not, why not?
I do not believe that size, geographic location, or financial resources ought to influence my philosophy in religion. This is because we are living in the modern era where the internet has breached geographical barriers and made it possible for one to minister to people located in geographical areas without leaving their locations. One can as well raise funds online to meet financial inadequacies and use the raised funds to minister to others.
