Learning Outcomes
According to Chase & Jacobs (2014), some essential processes are necessary for strategy implementation of a firm and analytics that support decisions for managing the systems within the firm. There have to be people who specialize in these processes, which take the roles in critical career opportunities in the supply chain to keep the industry going. The session presented study on supply chain management bringing into light the fundamental concepts that define supply chain management in an industry and across the globe. The session had a projection of the aspects that the course would cover to achieve capabilities and skills in operations and supply chain management. The definition of concepts and critical issues that define supply chain management and evaluation of the success of a firm improved knowledge in the supply chain.
The knowledge I have achieved within the week has affected my thought process by instilling in me the knowledge of supply chain network and all its aspects and drove out the assumption that supply chain only involve logistics and distribution of goods and services. I will use the knowledge I acquired to offer insight on the construct of the supply chain process and relate them to ensure that the process is efficient, promote responsible manufacturing, and ultimately benefit a company. In my personal life, I now have the full awareness of supply chain levels and the growth of the knowledge will make me have an interest in more discoveries.
I can confidently pass the knowledge to students explaining the contents of the study explicitly. The learning process was smooth with no challenge whatsoever, with an easy grasp of concepts and principles of the session. The book to be reviewed to support the learning process was available, and the discussion with peers bore fruit in helping to grasp the contents of the session. The learning during the session was highly active, with proper organization to ensure that the students participated fully whenever possible.
