Learning Outcomes
Industries continue to achieve meaningful growth irrespective of the economic cycle with their gross revenue capable of growth above the rate of the GDP of a country (Chase, & Jacobs, 2014). Globalization and the technological expansion in the current world define strategic nature of purchasing and influence the design of supply chain process. This week’s session had a focus on lean supply chain process, logistics, distribution and transportation, and sourcing by companies. It is a general feeling that the course again targeted the core of management process of a supply chain that is important for business and those striving to work in the area.
The knowledge during the course and video review was productive in the aspect of lean supply chain, global sourcing, procurement and the logistics distribution and transportation across the globe. Companies have to develop means and measures to ensure a continual flow of their processes in a less costly way considering the advancements in place (Chase, & Jacobs, 2014). The knowledge I have acquired helps in developing strategies to incorporate the means available across the business environment that can support the supply chain process in a more appropriate way. In my personal life, I have the capacity of incorporating different structures within the supply chain process through proper coordination to achieve the product success.
I can confidently pass the knowledge to students explaining the contents of the study explicitly and relating to procurement, logistics and outsourcing in the supply chain process. The learning process was smooth with no challenge whatsoever, with an easy grasp of concepts and principles of the session. The book to support the learning process was available, and the discussion with peers bore fruit in helping to understand the contents of the course (Chase, & Jacobs, 2014). The learning during the session was highly active, with the proper organization to ensure that the students participated fully whenever possible.
