Reflective Statement
The course on ethical leadership presented a broad range of concepts and principles in the study area that expanded knowledge and developed knowledge of learners. Through the study learning objectives, the session was properly guided by the expectations of what the students need to achieve after the lessons and so after the course. The course-learning objective that I found most interesting was that which required learners to evaluate the underlying aspects of today's global, organizational, and personal factors of making ethical decisions. This is because, the evaluation of the underlying factors made me learn of diverse issues in organizations, globally and within people that relate to decision making. It is important to determine the different aspects and their variance, and influence in decision-making.
The significant learning achievements that I take away are the expanded competency of becoming an ethical business leader with proper understanding of ethics and morality. I have learned all the concepts of morality, legality, and ethics and have useful knowledge that can help running an organization. The "ah" moments where I suddenly was able to grasp a concept that I had worked very hard on before was the distinction between morality and legality. I came to understand that the issues are distinctive, and one happens to contradict another while remaining substantive. I will you apply this knowledge in my personal life by embracing diversity in expectations in ethical and moral values. In my professional life, I am able to implement the concepts learnt into practice as ethical business leader, and finally in academic life, share the knowledge and experience of the subject with students to expand their knowledge. The new knowledge will help me advance in career since through the ethical decision-making on moral issues; success and progress can be guaranteed. The course was highly efficient and presented a clear flow of learning process and ideas in an appropriate pace.
