The goal of this essay is to apply the readings from the first three weeks to an article you read detailing current events. Current events do not have to be from this week or even this month but can be anything that has happened or been written in the last year. Find an article that discusses inequality and the workplace, ideally finding some intersections between race, class and gender topics we discussed these last three weeks.
Then you should write two to three pages with these questions in mind:
Why is this article important?
What is the key issue or issues highlighted by the article?
Does it support or contradict the views of authors we have read and why?
Does it suggest additional areas of research you might want to study to better understand the implications of the article?
Please properly cite to page numbers from the readings as you write the paper. The goal here is to relate it to the readings, so don't just summarize the article. Analyze it and reflect on how authors we have read would respond.
