Social Mobility

In daily life, I can get to strive to achieve the best, from possession, to authority, education, lifestyle among other factors to get satisfaction from the privileges that come with them like any other person. My family and I have experienced different social mobility at the workplace, home, in education and lifestyle, in the course of striving to achieve the highest level of education, continue to get promotion at work, and to acquire that stunning new thing in the markets or shops. While attending school, I continued pursuing education at different levels experiencing to get motivation by the privileges of getting a job, prizes and so forth.

Social mobility impacts extend to the family other than the first person experiencing it, which cause upward mobility in case of additional privileges or downward in case of deprived privileges. Jumping the ladder of social mobility due to the position of my parents’ is referred to as intergenerational mobility as opposed to the structural encounter instigated by the changes in our society due to the balance of downward and upward mobility at the same time experienced within my family.

Social mobility has helped my family and I in different ways, and personally, I can confess that it has made me adjust to different conditions and situations. Moving down the ladder at one time forced me to cut costs on the expenses and try to look out for a second job to sort my needs, as I adjust to time to balance my tasks and forego some leisure activities I used to engage in the past to pass time. The current economy has encouraged me to make adjustments to fit to the trends of time and activities, and utilize my time and resources effectively to survive the shifts in social mobility.
