Choose one of the questions below and find at least five (5) research articles
related to the question. You may want to continue with the same topic as the
“Research Article Summaries”; however, you may choose a different topic. You will
also interview three teachers of grades fifth through eighth on this question. You
will create a presentation summarizing the results of your research and interviews.
The presentation should integrate your research with the interviews to provide a
proposed answer to the question. In addition to the presentation, you must provide a
handout which summarizes what you found in your research. This handout should (1)
include the topic of your research, (2) be in bulleted format stating the main
points, and (3) include 4 multiple choice /short answer/fill in the blank questions
that address the most important aspects of your topic. Be sure to provide the
answers. Also, (4) include a reference section using APA 6th edition formatting.
Your thirty (30) minute presentation should explain your topic and what you learned
from your research. You must also provide implications and application to the
classroom. This can be in the form of how your topic might look in the classroom
(for example, if you have an adolescent with an eating disorder, what signs would a
teacher look for, what are the possible effects of that disorder on the adolescents’
ability to be successful in the classroom, etc.) Limit the text on the presentation
to phrases or a couple of words – not full sentences. Use font size of 24 or larger
with no more than 8 lines on each view. Feel free to include pictures, video clips,
YouTube clips, props, manipulative materials, and/or models. If you use video/movie
clips, be sure to only select specific targeted scenes that will help the class
understand your topic. Make your presentation engaging. Also, it should be limited
to 12 focused slides. Since you are providing a handout with the references, it is
not necessary to include the references in your presentation. (See rubric) Post
