Reflective Statement
Organizations experience many varied issues in the global economic environment it operates. The issues differ depending on the service the business operates and the cross-border factors. Different jurisdictions and geographical areas have regulations and policies that can hurt a business, yet businesses have to adopt with them to assure their operations. The course Learning Objective that I found most interesting was that which required students to assess the different challenges businesses face when they operate in an international environment versus the domestic environment. Understanding the challenges that a company can face in the global business platform would assist in planning on how to counter the challenges.
The significant learning achievements that you can take away with me is on developing necessary strategies for a business depending on the need and the issue that needs response. The "ah" moments where I suddenly were able to grasp a concept that I had worked very hard on before was when I discovered the difference in strategies and the challenges that international companies would face while venturing into new markets. I will apply this knowledge in my personal life through understanding the operations of a business in the global platform with their successes or failure. In my professional life, I would be able to operate in an international company navigating in international platforms giving explicit directions and assistance that would see it succeed. In my academic life, I am confident sharing with my peers and students the concepts and new ideas on the subject matter to expand the knowledge in the area. The new knowledge would help advance in your career since I can show high level of competence and deliver on global issues for the organization. The course was efficient and presented in a way that was understandable and admissible. The area where I feel the course needs to be modified or updated on is on international business legal issues as a study area.
