Professor Andreas Widmer provided a lecture on finding your moral compass in business, trying to demonstrate how a company can find out on the direction to take to where it wants to be. He explains how a business can relate the compass with the determination of its direction it needs to take. The professor describes the relation between the maps and the use of the compass points. The compass concentrates more on where a person needs to go to than where not to go (Widmer, 2015). Most importantly, the relation between the compass and the concept in business is explained.
The process focuses on cases and illustration to bring the audience into the reality of the concepts and their applications. There are the religious aspects used in the video to bring about concepts for ease of understanding (Hosmer, 2011). The professor further explains how ideas in the classroom transform students and are actualized in start-ups and businesses. Experiences are sometimes useful in class context to transfer knowledge and skills. The business compass has to functional properly to lead the company due to ‘magnetic’ effect (Widmer, 2015). The company must focus on the positive aspects that make it gain and not negative.
The professor feels that having people that can disagree with the leader shows some level of vigilance beneficial for the company, explaining the importance of working as a team. Having people who always agree with a leader is misleading, as negative virtues are unnoticed (Widmer, 2015). The most important thing in an organization is focusing on what to do and of benefit and not the wrongs. The session was presented effectively to the university students with experiences and information from other sources brought. The video is audible with flawless that make it easy to follow. I would recommend the video to a peer to add on experience due to the manner in which the knowledge is shared and the applicability
