Employee Personalities and Perceptions
There are different characters with different attitudes and opinions (Luthans, 2011) in every organization and bosses should, therefore, understand best and know how to deal with them. People within an organization affect others in multiple ways while they have traits and understanding about themselves different. It is better to know how to deal with these interactions and to boost people self-awareness and the ability to control and appreciate themselves in various situations (Luthans, 2011). Self-esteem is more important, and the way an employee perceives self will determine the attitude and the reaction to events at the workplace.
It is obvious that people react and interact in a situation differently as in the case of the supervisor and the employees (Luthans, 2011). By the fact that the employees feeling that one of them is breaching some codes and no action is taken makes them feel that they are not enjoying same motivation as the other. It is important to encourage a picture of the employees that will develop their esteem and help them respond to situations at the workplace. Evidently, there has not been real interaction between the supervisor and some of the employees prompting them to feel demotivated. It is obvious that in a department or an organization, different people will come with their different personalities and attitudes or even develop those that are dissimilar.
Helping the employees to interact and facilitating the process will help them understand and appreciate one another in their context (Luthans, 2011). An action that can also be taken suiting the situation at the workplace is rotating the employees and changing the supervisor. The cause of conflict of interest is the supervisor and employee K, and taking them to different departments will help out, while those remaining are encouraged to interact. It is also important to make the employees have a clear understanding of work value and ethics that guide their engagements with the institution, while supporting their development within their roles.
