Revolutions and their Aftermath
The videos briefed in these paper present footages of different revolutions. The first video shows how Demonstrators in Cairo carry on their demos and the fight with security forces. The protestors express dissatisfaction with the presidency and the government and continue the fight, with firearms blowing off, and people being killed (YouTube, 2015).The events saw leaders from across the globe condemning the happenings and airing their concerns. In the end, the president stepped down from office, and the news was received positively and with celebrations from the citizens. The second clip presents the announcement of presidential election results that are received with cheers and people attending a public speech after that in large numbers (YouTube, 2015). However, after that, there are pronouncements that are not received positively by the people. Processes were initiated to see the president vacate the seat; the army takes over the rule, and people’s energy is rejuvenated.
The second video presents the Cuban revolution. Cuba is a country with a rich history with successes after independence. The citizens and other leaders felt that the country was under imperialism, and they planned a revolution to end the rule (YouTube, 2015). The president then joined a one-party state with all authority suppressing those opposing his rule and killing perceived enemies. The final video present the origin of the Yemen revolution and what currently ails it (YouTube, 2015). The country is under civil strife with the rebel group receiving support from other countries. The source of the war in the country originated from the difference between two leaders. The people felt fed up by the government and started to manipulate others in favor of the factions. The rebellion received backed other militia that created more confusion.
The similarities of the situations in the videos are that there were killings and that the governments were destabilized. In the Egyptian and the Yemen situation, civilians were killed difference being that in Yemen it was between communities and other forces as well whereas in Egypt the killing was the forces of the people. The videos present the view of the source of uprisings to be instigated by failure in the governments and the dictatorial regimes.
